FORT WORTH – A Wish with Wings, Inc. will once again partner with Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, Fort Worth this year to host a festive holiday party for area children diagnosed with life-threatening conditions.
Greg Kalina, regional manager of the downtown Fort Worth restaurant (812 Main Street), will open exclusively on Monday, Nov. 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the private event which assists a Wish with Wings in bringing holiday joy and cheer into the lives of more than 150 Wish children and their families, a press release stated.
Santa will arrive in style courtesy of the Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments. The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and Rhythm & Blues Dance Team plan to join the fun, along with Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, Frosty, Santa’s Elves and a 10-foot Toy Soldier. Special dignitaries and VIP guests will join Santa in greeting the Wish children and families.
“We are so grateful to Greg Kalina, a Wish with Wings Board president and Del Frisco’s regional manager, and his amazing staff for hosting this special holiday event again this year. The support we receive throughout the year from Del Frisco’s, and all of our generous supporters and volunteers, enables us to ring in the holiday season in a very special and memorable way for our Wish children and their families,” stated Judy Youngs, executive director of a Wish with Wings, Inc., an organization devoted to granting wishes for little Texans with life-threatening conditions.
Each child will be provided Santa hats, teddy bears and stockings filled to the brim with holiday gifts. During the party, Santa will check his list and call each child by name, presenting each with a gift specifically selected for them while they whisper their Christmas wishes to the jolly ole’ fellow. All of the children’s gifts have been generously donated by the generous elves.
Guests will dine in true Del Frisco’s style while Christmas music fills the room. After lunch, the children will enjoy a special Christmas reading from Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, and everyone will join the fun in singing Christmas carols along with Santa.
